Parent Coaching for Child Anxiety

In young children anxiety is commonly experienced in the forms of separation anxiety, social anxiety, performance anxiety, specific fears or phobias, selective mutism, eating problems, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, picky eating and school refusal.  Parents naturally worry and may change their family routines and expectations in order to avoid the stress of child anxiety, which actually feeds the child’s anxiety over time. Although your best option is child and family counseling, when this is not possible, coaching for the parent(s) with a mental health professional can improve child anxiety significantly.
